"Beware the barrenness of a busy life."

- Socrates

A good hard reset of the busyness in our lives is in order every once in awhile. Planning a beach vacation two months ago to Michigan in mid-September might not have been the best guarantee for swimming and soaking up the sun but it did provide strict orders to drop all of the busyness and chaos at home to get away for 4 days. Bonus: the wifi in our rental was terrible which allowed for a digital detox as well!

Pick a week, weekend, day, or just a few hours in the upcoming weeks and commit yourself to something relaxing that you can't cancel or reschedule even if your schedule gets too busy. I suggest a non-refundable reservation somewhere. Commit yourself to relaxing and recharging, even if the conditions aren't exactly as you pictured. Enjoy the richness of a not busy life, even if it is just for a moment.
